Getting There Guide
DRMAC remains committed to updating and distributing the Getting There Guide, a resource guide to transit services in the Denver area. The Getting There Guide is available in print, electronic and audio formats in both English and Spanish. If you would like free hard copies or audio files for your organization or personal use, please visit the Contact Us section or request them online here.
TransitOptions (Transportation Provider Database)
Building on our successful Getting There Guide, DRMAC has developed TransitOptions, an online guide to help individuals find the transportation option that is right for them. You can access TransitOptions here.
Coordinated Call Center
The Denver metro region has been very excited about United We Ride's "One Vision: One Call" campaign. Under this effort, individuals within the Denver area would have a single phone number to call, similar to the 511 traveler information number available through the Colorado Department of Transportation or United Way's 211 human services call number. While the specific means of accomplishing this task remain indeterminate at this time, work has begun to gain approval from the various stakeholders to turn this vision into a reality.
DRMAC has been working with CO WIN Partners to gather input from stakeholders as a first step in developing a call center. In January of this year, CO WIN Partners surveyed riders of public and specialized transportation, as well as human service organization and transportation provider employees. On February 9th and March 20th, over 50 people attended Stakeholder Strategy Planning meetings to identify values, analyze needs, and develop consensus on goals and evaluation criteria for transportation call or contact center options. In addition, five focus groups were held in March to gather additional information from riders and potential riders. From all of this, this work plan was prepared. If you are interested in serving on the committee to begin implementing the work plan, please let us know. Check back here for updates as we begin implementation!
Volunteer Driver Programs
DRMAC is coordinating forums and trainings for existing Volunteer Driver Programs to come together to share ideas and best practices. The intent is also to provide a forum for organizations wanting to start their own program. If you would like to find out more about the volunteer driver programs in the Denver metro area, please review the Getting There Guide. If you would like to get more information about how to become a volunteer with one of the programs, please call 303-861-3711.
For those interested in starting or expanding a volunteer driver program, we encourage you to read this document: Volunteer Driver Program Best Practices
Travel Training Project
DRMAC is partnering with Special Transit to offer On The Move, travel training options to human service organizations. The goal is to teach organizations one of three options to help clients become more self-sufficient by using public transportation. DRMAC will serve as a facilitator for any organizations wanting to partner to provide this free resource! Here are three documents to get you started:

Veterans Transportation Task Force
The Colorado Interagency Coordinating Council on Transportation Access and Mobility (State Coordinating Council) identified highlighting local/regional promising practices for collaboration and coordination as an action step in their most recent work plan, which included the veterans' system. At the same time, DRMAC's members identified the need for better coordination with the veteran's transportation system in the Denver area. As local coordinating councils began to develop across the state, many were running into the same barrier—lack of coordination with those who provide transportation to veterans. The Veterans' Transportation Task Force was developed in November, 2010 and the hope was and is that the task force will lead to better communication between veterans and non-veterans groups, which will lead to increased transportation service and a reduction in duplication. To read more about the task force and the research we have completed so far, please click here. For more information on or to join the task force, please contact us.
