Member on the Move
The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) is a voluntary association of 56 county and municipal governments united together to achieve a better future for our region. DRCOG members include Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Clear Creek, Douglas, Gilpin and Jefferson counties, the City and County of Broomfield, the City and County of Denver, and 47 municipalities.
DRCOG has a wide scope of work; it is both the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the region and also the Area Agency on Aging for all its member counties except for Boulder. These federal designations mean that the council is responsible for long-range transportation planning, and for channeling grant monies to service providers such as transportation agencies that serve seniors and the disabled.
DRCOG staff with assistance from the Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council is currently preparing an update to the Transit Element of the Metro Vision 2035 Regional Transportation Plan. The Transit Element addresses federal requirements for a Coordinated Public Transit Human Services Transportation Plan, and will be considered by the Board of Directors in 2010.
